This is an antique 1920s or earlier silk kimono robe in royal purple with white origami cranes. The sleeves are doubled lined in both red silk and pink silk crepe that has been stuffed and padded with silk batting. The hem is also stuffed and padded with silk batting. Includes a handmade silk sash. In very good condition for the age. There are a few very areas of coloration along the fold lines along the side seams. There is a little red dye bleed on the sleeve edge. See last photo.
This kimono is certainly wearable although it should be done with some care.
This kimono is very long length, but also considerably smaller around the body than more recent vintage kimonos. To allow enough coverage in front it is best suited for XXS to small, hip size 36 inches maximum. If worn hanging open, it will fit up to medium or large. The length will trail on the floor for all but the tallest wearer.
Around body, measured across the back and doubled - 40 inches Length from shoulder to hem - 66 inches Sash - 83 x 3 inches
