Vintage 1960s Lemon Yellow Beaded Gown Maxi Dress
Vintage Clothing and Kimonos are not sized the same as modern manufactured clothing. Everything sold by ThisBlueBird will include actual garment measurements in inches. When choosing an item please refer to the measurements and compare them with a similar style garment you already own. Please note the measurements are actual garment measurements and you must leave 2 to 3 inches between your actual measurements and the garment for ease of movement.
The charts on this page are here to assist you in understanding how vintage clothing and kimonos are measured and where you should measure on your body.
Vintage 1960s formal dress from my personal collection. This dress was originally purchased at Stix, Baer & Fuller in St. Louis and worn by my mother to the prom in 1966!
Lemon yellow with a beaded bodice, velvet waist band with a long bow in back. Pleated wait, back metal zipper and the skirt is lined on the upper half with stiff interfacing to give a crinoline effect. This dress is in excellent condition, it was worn once and then put in storage. It has been recently professionally dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
No tags other than union. Made in the USA. No fabric content tag, looks like a rayon or possibly rayon/poly blend.
This is a very small size XXS dress.
Please refer to measurements in inches taken while laying flat and doubled where appropriate.

ABOUT VINTAGE CLOTHING SIZES
Vintage clothing sizes run smaller than modern clothing sizes and there is no industry standard sizing chart for modern women's clothing. When purchasing vintage clothes, it is important to know your own true body measurements and compare those to the garment measurements provided. Please take a moment to review this chart on how to take your own body measurements, so you can correctly determine if this item will fit you. Be sure to always leave several inches between your measurements and the garment measurement for proper fit and ease of movement. Returns due to improper fit will not be approved.
