This is a stunning vintage wedding dress made in 1940. Ivory bias cut rayon duchesse satin with lace shoulders and collar. Long sleeves with pointed cuffs, covered buttons up the back, and beaded trim at bodice. The collar can be snapped in back or left loose. The most magnificent part of the dress is the train, a giant 5 pointed satin and lace star!
It is in extremely good condition. All of the buttons and beads are intact. There is very little wear to the satin. There is one small break in the lace, next to the 4th button, very slight underarm yellowing, and a few scattered faint spots, the darkest is near the hem, all are shown in last photo.
No tags. Dress is shown on a US size 0 Professional dress form and was a bit loose. Measurements below are unstretched, taken flat and doubled where necessary. As this is bias cut, there will be a little stretch to this fabric that should allow for an additional inch or two in the measurements. For reference the dress form measurements are 31.5'/24/24'
Bust - 36 inches (91.44 cm)
Waist across the bottom points of the seam - 28 inches (71.12 cm)
Hip - 36 inches (91.44 cm) - Possibly up to 37 inches if stretched - Will need a shaping undergarment.
Length from shoulder to hem in front - 59 inches (149.86 cm)
Length from shoulder to hem in back - 91 inches (231.14 cm)
Sleeve length to longest point of cuff - 25 inches (63.5 cm)
Shoulders across back, seam to seam - 12 inches (30.48 cm)
