Vintage 1930s Blue Crepe Chiffon Bias Cut Maxi Dress
Vintage Clothing and Kimonos are not sized the same as modern manufactured clothing. Everything sold by ThisBlueBird will include actual garment measurements in inches. When choosing an item please refer to the measurements and compare them with a similar style garment you already own. Please note the measurements are actual garment measurements and you must leave 2 to 3 inches between your actual measurements and the garment for ease of movement.
The charts on this page are here to assist you in understanding how vintage clothing and kimonos are measured and where you should measure on your body.
Fabulous vintage 1930s evening gown in medium dusty blue rayon crepe. Sleeveless, v-neck with smocked shoulders. Fitted waist with an attached tie. Full skirt with very wide sweep. Not lined. Side metal zipper. Dress is a *very long* length and in a very wearable size for modern women.
In very good condition, there are two pin holes, some light fading and a couple water spots that get lost in the drape. See last photo. This dress has just been dry cleaned and is ready to wear.
Only one tag on lower side seam, reads "3 Flexform" and has the hand written dress measurements in inches.
Please refer to the measurements listed below, taken while laying flat and doubled where appropriate.
Bust - 40 inches (101.6 cm)
Waist - 28 inches (71.12 cm)
Hips - 54 inches (137.16 cm)
Length from shoulder to hem - 61 inches (154.94 cm) - Note tag reads 63" inch length but it seems to measure at 61 inches.
For reference purposes, this dress is shown on a modern US size 10 dress form which measures 36.5” B / 27.5” W / 37.5” H.
