Vintage 1930s-1940s Satin Gown / Pink Maxi Dress
Vintage Clothing and Kimonos are not sized the same as modern manufactured clothing. Everything sold by ThisBlueBird will include actual garment measurements in inches. When choosing an item please refer to the measurements and compare them with a similar style garment you already own. Please note the measurements are actual garment measurements and you must leave 2 to 3 inches between your actual measurements and the garment for ease of movement.
The charts on this page are here to assist you in understanding how vintage clothing and kimonos are measured and where you should measure on your body.
It is in good condition structurally, I can see one or two small pinholes and minor wear to the satin, one of the turned cuffs needs to be tacked back down. However, there is some faint underarm discoloration and some spots which get lost in the gathered fabric area. There are a few light water spots near the hem, and some speckled fading also lost in the drape of the skirt. See examples of these in the last photo. This dress is sold as is.
There are no original tags but, having had one of these in the shop before, this is most definitely a Fred Perlberg "Dance Originals." No size tag. Measurements are approximate, taken flat and doubled where necessary. Shown on a US size 6 dress form.
