Gorgeous antique silk kimono from 1910 to 1920. Made of the most beautiful blue ombre dyed silk and heavily embroidered with pink flowers and a large peacock design. The entire kimono is padded with spun raw silk between a layer of gossamer-fine ivory silk lining. The hem is fully padded. It includes a matching silk obi sash with long fringe and floral embroidery.
The kimono and obi set is nearly in perfect condition considering it is 100 years old. There are a few tiny spots, one small area of light fading at the hem and a line at the sleeve seam where it was stored folded. A little hand stitching can be seen at the shoulders. See the last photo for these.
✥ This kimono is truly deserving of display and would be excellent for a collector or a museum.
✥ It has been professionally dry cleaned and is ready for display.
✥ It is wearable, although recommend for special occasions or short periods. I would not suggest this kimono for a daily lounging robe.
