Lovely vintage late 1930s to 1940s silk kimono robe in purple semi-sheer ro silk with a white red floral print. Ro silk is woven by twisting and skipping some threads, creating an open striped effect in the weave, and giving it a chiffon gauze like quality to the fabric. Not lined, it is light weight and perfect for summer weather or warmer climates. Includes a simple satin ribbon sash. It is in good condition, but there are small scattered spots throughout, see examples in photo.
Please note: This kimono is 100% pure silk. Ro weaving creates a fabric that is more slick on the surface and feels different, more like a chiffon or organza gauze. It does not feel like what you may think of as traditional silk. Since this kimono is older, the silk is very light weight, even compared to more recent Ro silk, this one is very thin and light.
