This is an antique Chinese silk summer court robe from the 19th century. Made of light weight gauze-like silk, woven with bright gold dragons, flying cranes, and clouds. Carved brass buttons at the neck and down the side. Very long sleeves with wide embroidered cuffs. There is a high slit in center front and back. It is in extremely good condition considering the age. There are some scattered stitches near the collar, one small hole near center seam, one small area of fray at the top of the front slit, and due to being stored folded for many decades, there is a little splitting along the crease line at the shoulders, see all in last photo.
