This is an absolutely lovely vintage 1960s wedding dress. It is very light ivory that looks like fine Shantung silk. The entire dress is fully beaded with pearls and iridescent sequins. Empire waist, with an a-line skirt. It has gathered cuffs, covered snaps up the back, and a back bow. The dress is fully lined in satin and also has a interfacing lining in the skirt to give it additional structure. The sleeves are bracelet length and they not lined so they are very slightly sheer.
It is in very good condition and has just been professionally cleaned. There are a few faint spots and some light underarm discoloration. No beads are missing but there are two that are a little loose. The interfacing at the hem is discolored but that does not show when wearing. See all in the last photo. Please note, the hem is nice and straight, the front view photo appears uneven but that is simply how it was draping while on the XS dress form.
There are no tags in this dress, unsure if it was professionally custom made or home sewn, either way it was very well made. It looks and feels like a Shantung silk but it is either a blend of silk and polyester, or fully made of a very good polyester. It's a very nice medium weight fabric with a little structure.
Dress is shown on a US size 0 Professional seamstress dress form and had room in the bust but the bow was fitted for snapping in back, for reference the form measurements are 31.5” B / 24” W / 34” H.
Best fit for up to a size 4. It was too snug when tried on the size 6 form.
Garment measurements below were taken flat and doubled where necessary.
