The Caribbean on a Budget
Vibrant blue and green eye shadow for summer! It looks expensive, non? I found it at The Dollar Store for, you guessed it… one whole dollar. And even better, it stays put all day, unlike the much more expensive stuff.

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day in Saint Louis. My lawn was refreshed, the front porch was polished, the vegetables were planted and I browsed a few local shops looking for something and nothing in particular at the same time.
First up, Roots – Antiques, Vintage, Salvage on Sutton Blvd. I love love love this store. It is exactly the kind of place I would want to have. They are celebrating their 5 yr milestone, and, combined with the Maplewood Coffee Crawl, things were lively yesterday.

I purchased a handful of these vintage clock faces. They will find new life as lovely necklaces so stay tuned!

Then I was off to Gringo Jones Imports in Southwest Garden, to find some iron trellis for the back yard. They had plenty to choose from but advised me to come back later this week when a giant truckload is arriving from Mexico with 14 new trellis styles. I’ll be back on Tuesday! Meanwhile, I looked through the other garden decor…
I considered taking home this serene Buddha…

Or this lovely birdbath…

But what I really want is a fountain to remind me of my favorite city… Rome!
